Kate Middleton’s wedding dress had been the fashion’s best-kept secret until the moment she stepped out of the car at Westminster Abbey on the day of her Royalwedding with Prince William. Designed by Sarah Burton of Brit label Alexander McQueen, the stunning wedding dress worn by Kate cost £250,000 (about $416,700). Valued at a whopping $12 million, this wedding dress was created by Martin Katz Jewelers and Renee Strauss, a bridal couture designer and owner of a successful bridal salon in Beverly Hills. The magnificent dress featured 150 carats worth of diamonds laced throughout the dress. The diamond wedding gown was made to celebrate the spectacular Bridal Show held in 2006 at The Ritz-Carlton on Rodeo Drive in Marina del Rey.
2. White Gold Diamond Dress – $8.5 million
The world’s second most expensive wedding dress was created by Japanese designer Yumi Katsura. The sparkling wedding dress featured 1000 pearls and a rare 5-carat white gold diamond.

3. Peacock Wedding Dress - $1.5 million
The Peacock wedding dress was fashioned out of 2,009 pieces of peacock feathers. The expensive wedding dress was unveiled in 2009 at the wedding expo held in Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu Province. The peacock weddingdress took eight handicraftsmen two months to finish.
4. Danasha Luxury Gown - $1.5 million
Fashion designer Jad Ghandour and Danasha Luxury unveiled this luxury dress valued at $1.5 million during Miami International Fashion Week in 2010. The Danasha Luxury Gown features 75 Carats of high spec diamonds hand-picked from Antwerp, Belgium and 250 grams of 18 k gold. The material used is Taffeta. Designed by Italian Mauro Adami, this £240,000 wedding dress is made of 40 meters of fabric spun from silk and platinum thread. It was on show in London in 2008 as part of the Hatton Garden Jewellery Week.
8. Wedding dress bearing 9,999 karats of gems
This wedding dress adorned with 9,999 karats (about two kilograms) of gemswas shown at a jewelry store in Shangrao in eastern China’s Jiangxi province in 2007. Designed by a famed Hong Kong jewelry designer, this gem-studdedwedding dress costs 999,999 Yuan (US $154,000 at the time of writing).
9. ‘Bach ngoc xiem y’ wedding gown - $117,000
Pictured above is a white silk and satin bridal gown from Vietnam, which has been decked out with 222 diamonds and 100 red rubies. Valued at equivalent to US $117,000, the “Bach ngoc xiem y” is the most expensive bridal gown in Vietnam. Showcased at the Ruby Plaza trading centre in Hanoi on June 28, this shimmering gown is a creation of young fashion designer Huy Vo. The gemstone-made flower on the gown has 22 big rubies and 8 big diamonds.
10. Imperial Pearl Syndicate gown
This stunning dress was made back in the ‘50s. The world’s most expensive gown, in those good times, cost $100,000 and was made of 100,000 cultured pearls. The amazing wedding dress was owned by the Imperial Pearl Syndicate. It took 15 years to collect the pre-war cultured pearls and eight dressmakers took two months to complete this wedding dress.

Princess Diana wore this gown in her 1981 wedding with Prince Charles. The gown had a amazing 25-foot train, and was made of lace, ivory silk taffeta and over 10,000 pearls and sequins. The exact value isn’t known, but it’s truly priceless.

Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier in 1956. Her wedding dress was designed by Helen Rose, and was made with 100 yards of silk net and 25 yards of silk taffeta. Cost is unknown to date.

When Melania Knauss married billionaire Donald Trump in 2005, she wore awedding gown designed by John Galliano. The dress, with a 13-foot train, was made from 300 feet of white duchesse satin, and 1,500 pearls and crystal rhinestones.
4. Catherine Zeta-Jones’ wedding dress
At her wedding with Michael Douglas in 2000, Catherine Zeta-Jones wore a Christian Lacroix ivory sheath wedding gown. The cost of gown with a lace train is unknown, but the wedding cost a reported $1.5 million.
5. Victoria Beckham’s wedding dress
Victoria Adams and David Beckham were married on July 4, 1999 at the Luttrellstown Castle, just outside of Dublin, Ireland. On her wedding, the gorgeous lady wore a Vera Wang designed strapless wedding dress made of champagne-colored satin.
